Moral Idealism in Chinese Traditional Political Philosophy

—From Official Ideology to Social Order

Abstract: The development history of human society shows that moral culture has always been an important way of influencing a state's ruling order and people's life. Moral culture is a political act through which public power consciously gives play to the guiding and normative role of morals in regulating social conflicts, maintaining social order and guaranteeing the fundamental interests of the owner of public power. China's fine traditional moral culture has produced long-lasting influence upon people's thought and has been practiced politically since a long time ago, which has exerted a far-reaching influence on Chinese society and politics. Therefore, revisiting Chinese traditional moral culture and thought still has important political value and far-reaching significance for the great practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
