This marks that China’s chip industry has entered a new era, and received important recognition internationally. It also marks that Beijing’s independent innovation capacity has scaled new height.

Since the 18th CPC National Congress, Beijing has given full play to its advantages in education, science and technology, and talents, accelerated the building of the world’s major science center and innovation highland, and empowered the Chinese modernization through science and technology.

Beijing has implemented an innovation-driven strategy, strengthened the regional innovation system, further enhanced its independent innovation capacity, and made efforts to achieve vigorous breakthroughs in key technical difficulties. The capital’s high-end think tank research report, “Research on Innovation-driven Advanced and Sophisticated Industries” shows that Beijing’s hi-tech industry development index increased by 2.66 times in 7 years. “High-tech” has become the bright backdrop color for Beijing’s industrial development.

Scientific and technological innovation is an important engine for the development of human society as well as a powerful weapon to deal with global challenges. At present, China’s high-tech industries are entering into a new stage of innovative development with quality and efficiency enhancement. To further promote the high-quality development of cutting-edge industries, it is imperative to create an environment conducive to original innovation, and an innovation ecosystem that can effectively commercialize scientific and technological achievements. At the same time, efforts must be made to create a diversified industrial ecology, and to increase investment in original innovation and independent research.

By strengthening industry-university-research collaboration through innovation consortiums, greater efforts are made to enhance the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. Entering a new stage of development, Beijing will stimulate regional scientific and technological innovation through advanced and sophisticated industries and technological commercialization to provide new momentum for building a “city of innovation”, and to strive to deliver a high-scoring answer sheet in scientific and technological innovation.
